Jesus came preaching the kingdom of God, but all Paul left us was the Essay
Jesus came preaching the kingdom of God, but all Paul left us was the church - Essay Example This paper will look at the statement Jesus came preaching the kingdom of God, but all Paul left us was the Church and give reasons for either agreeing or disagreeing with the statement. I disagree with the statement Jesus Came Preaching the kingdom of God, but all Paul left us was the church. This is because both Jesus and Paul taught identical things. Settled, Paul concentrated more on theological concerns than Jesus did, but there is nothing that Paul said that is contradictory to Jesus Christ. Therefore, both Jesus and Paul preached the kingdom of God. As recorded in the Gospels, the basic elements in the preaching of Jesus Christ include, one, his teaching on wealth in which He asserts that it is extremely difficult for a rich individual to go to heaven, and also warns against the gathering of riches on a number of occasions. Two, Jesus gave teachings regarding violence. Finally, Jesus gave teachings regarding compassion and forgiveness (Shillington 17). On the other hand, Paulà ¢â¬â¢s teachings included, one, his teachings on faith. Two, Paul taught the lordship of Christ in his letters. Finally, Paul taught justification in his letters. Jesus claimed in Mathew 5:17 that He did not come to put an end to the Prophets or Law, but He had come to fulfill them. Nonetheless, Jesus frequently re-interpreted the laws, or added to them, in various occasions in extremely radical manners. Paul marked a continuation of the message of Jesus. In Mark 10:25 Jesus claimed it was effortless for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to go into the kingdom of the Lord. Jesus continued to claim that the sole way a rich person could go to heaven was if he could sell all his wealth and give it to the less fortunate (Shillington 18). This statement meant that the Lord would only inspire a rich person to modify his way of life and voluntarily give his wealth to the less fortunate. In addition, Jesus Christ, in a number of instances, warned against the accrual of riches. In Mathew 6:19 Jesus asserted that people should not gather wealth on the universe. He also went ahead and claim that a person did not have the ability to both serve God and money. Jesus did not approve of wealth because he presumed that it was not right for a number of individuals to starve while others lived in wasteful luxury. According to Paul, the followers were to attempt to accumulate spiritual wealth, and as the command progressed, it is evident that the followers were to put their material possessions to use in this endeavor. In Paulââ¬â¢s view, the material wealth of the followers was to incorporate a special duty (Horrell 30). For the followers, the standard Christian life of virtuous duties should entail sensible manifestations of generosity and the eagerness to share. Paul also claimed that since all the rich had came from the Lord, they were to possess a proper opinion of their riches and utilize it to help the less privileged. Paul envisaged a s tewardship of the commodities of the world, and the people blessed with these possessions were to be conscientious administrators of the wealth. On violence, Jesus taught that people should love their enemies. This statement has been interpreted in a number of ways. A number of individ

Administrative corruption Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Administrative corruption - Research Paper Example Lastly, the paper will explore the consequences of corruption and ways to deal with these consequences. Nevertheless, this essay focuses on presenting a discussion regarding administrative corruption in terms of types, cause, effects, and consequences. Definition According to Myint (3) corruption in its basic form regards to a form of dishonesty or fraudulent behaviors, by people in power, which may involve bribery, bribery, nepotism, extortion, embezzlement, and favoritism or involvement in actions that make people to be morally depraved. Types One of the forms of corruption is bribery that receives a substantial share of references, whereby people a bribe as money or favors for influencing a public official and it is in form of fixed sum, percentage of contracts favor in money in kind that is given to a state official. It also related to the bribe given to a state official to make a contract on behave of the state or business with a distribution of the benefits to the companies or the clients. The other type of corruption is nepotism that occurs when the administrative offices favor their relatives or close friends for a position in organization; especially if they hold a high position that involves decision making. This form of corruption is natural to human beings, whereby they can give preferential treatment to their family members and friends. For example when a student is a relative to the principal and the teachers are reporting low marks in subjects he is taking, the principal can change the low marks to high marks, thus falling a victim of the temptations of nepotism. The other example of corruption involves police receiving of bribe from corrupt individuals to earn a favors by breaking the law, fencing stolen goods and others like extortions by police officers. Police may also engage in violation of individuals rights either by use of excessive physical force which is brutality, discriminatory arrest, or verbal harassment. Causes The first cause of c orruption is increases in the level of poverty in the society, whereby only the rich are favored, while the poor continues to sail in their boat of thrifty (Myint, 5). Apparently, this hinders them from enjoying their rights as citizens of a given country. Therefore, it becomes extremely complicated when it comes to dealing with the corruption in the in various administrative departments. For instance, police may receive bribes from public transport vehicles where by ignoring the vehicles (Myint, 6). They do not arrest those drivers that are over speeding, this being one of the main causes of accidents. The other cause of corruption has also been evident through effects of political influence on administrative officers with differentiated political affiliations (Myint, 8). Certain politicians manipulate the some administrative officers in order to achieve their inclinations by using bribes, threats and nepotism; thus, politicians and leaders have increased ability to perpetrate corr uption in the society, and this has negative impact on members of the society. Effects Corruption in organizations has economic effects on the community relating to categorization of being major or minor, though both of them have a serious impact on the individual community. Corruption results to depletion of resources or the national wealth, thus taking the responsibility for the increase in the cost of commodities, funneling of scarce public resources, leading to uneconomic projects at the expense of the need projects by the public such as schools, hospitals and improvement of infrastructure in the society, and it also contributes to misallocation of resource, conversion of

My passion for wildlife biology Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words
My passion for wildlife biology - Essay Example I sat enthralled as a spider spun its web underneath our porch. I gaped in amazement when I first witnessed a foal being born in our barn. I sat for many hours pondering how our chickens managed to lay eggs and break them open. Where did those chicks come from? I once wondered aloud. During certain seasons, wolves would become the bane to the lives of livestock. I spent a number of my nights as a teenager keeping that wild creature away from our farm. I hated the sound of gunshots ringing through the night air. It did not seem right to kill a creature without knowing why it was attacking other animals. My summers were spent building birdbaths for the migratory birds passing by our farm. We often had a lot of stray animals dropping by our farm in need of sustenance. When I realized that the wolves and other wild animals were just hungry, I researched on the kinds of plant food that they might be interested in eating. I encouraged my father to then plant these very plants on our farm in order to feel the wild life and save our livestock from further harm. It was a plan that actually worked. It brought down the rate of attacks by wild life on our farm animals. It was that research and passion to preserve wild life that led me down the path of further Wild Life Biology studies. I hope that I will be given a chance to learn more about my passion at the hands of the great educators of the Sterling College Biology Department. I believe that I will make a fantastic addition to your roster of students, I just need to be given a chance to prove myself to the admissions and academic members of the
Role of women in Hebrew scriptures Research Paper
Role of women in Hebrew scriptures - Research Paper Example The scriptures record that Eve the first woman, was created as a companion of Adam (Kassian, 1992, p28). In this regard, God set forth a patriarchal society, since he created woman from man, but not the other way. From the onset, God granted man the authority to rule all creations. The appearance of Abraham, whom the Jews refer as ââ¬Ëthe father of nationsââ¬â¢ affirmed the authority of men over women, and Kassian (1992, p31) notes that even today, a Jew male is referred as Abrahamââ¬â¢s son. In the Old Testament God, commanded man to procreate and fill the earth and this placed a lot of pressure on women from the onset (Clarence, 1968, p61). In this respect, the most important role of women in Ancient Israel was getting married and bearing children to ensure posterity of Jewish race. The Old Testament prohibited relationships such as incest and adultery, which ensured that a woman could not be related to a man in more than one way. However, a man was allowed to marry a sist er to his wife even in cases where the wife was alive. Before any marriage ceremony, the groomââ¬â¢s family was required to pay a specified amount of dowry to the brideââ¬â¢s family. ... These punishments are well elaborated in the Halakhah, a collection of rules and regulations that governed the conduct of the Jewish community (Richard, 1988, p 43). Clarence (1968, p37) notes that due to the great importance attached to marriage, there were three main requirements that were necessary to validate a marriage between man and woman in ancient Israel . They included payment of bride price, acceptance by the bride to get married and the union had to be consummated through sexual intercourse. From these rituals, it is apparent that the primary role of a woman in the society was getting married and to satisfy sexual needs of their men. Girls got married at very young ages that put their ability to make sound judgment about marriage in question. Social and religious critics have questioned the symbolic significance of paying bride price for a woman before marriage in the ancient Israel society. Kassian (1992, pp45-49) argues that the dowry payment portrayed women as a proper ty, with a price tag that was owned by man. However, Clarence (1968, p43) notes that payment of the bride price was important because it indicated the groom had good intentions of marrying and that he was capable of taking care of his wife. These findings comply with polygyny practice in Israel that allowed men with adequate resources to marry more than one wife in the ancient society (Richard, 1988, p49). Bearing children was another important role of women in the ancient Jewish society. According to Richard (1988, p53), women were only supposed to have sex for procreation and to validate their marriages. According to Clarence (1968, p73) barrenness

Engine performance and Efficiensy Coursework Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words
Engine performance and Efficiensy - Coursework Example Momentum drag is the negative thrust (force) opposing the jet thrust or motion through air, it is also referred to as the ram drag. It is a product of the incoming air (flow rate) and the velocity via which it is fed to the jet engine. It is normally denoted as Ti or To. Mathematically, it is the difference between the gross and net thrust (Momentum drag = Gross thrust ââ¬â Net thrust) (Farokhi 290). It is computed as (Gunston 187): Momentum drag is the opposition the aircraft experiences as it surges through the air. to the engine, it may be referred to as the ââ¬Ëfrictionââ¬â¢ experienced by the engine as it propels the aircraft forwards. Net thrust is the resultant aerodynamic force that causes propulsion of an aircraft in air, which is represented by the summation nozzle thrust and momentum of motion. It is a result of the propulsion system, engine, overcoming momentum drag. It is thus the difference between the gross thrust and the momentum drag on the engine of an aircraft (Net thrust = Gross thrust ââ¬â Maximum drag) (El-Sayed 125). It is usually denoted by T and is calculated as follows: The aircraft thrust is influenced by the airflow into the engine. A change in the rate of airflow triggers a resultant thrust alteration. In the case of net thrust, the increase in the aircrafts speed results to an increase for air fed into the engine, resulting to a higher output (Cumpsty 193). With static thrust, the environmental factors tend to determine the ability of the craft to engage in motion. With static thrust, the air speed is kept constant and is not affected by the crafts motion thus differing from the net thrust. b) Calculate the net thrust of a turbo jet flying at 150 M/S with an air mass flow of 50 Kg/S and a jet stream velocity of 300 M/S with a chocked nozzle. The residual gas pressure in the jet stream is 45 KPa gauge, the nozzle area is 0.2M2. It is evident from the derived
